For our July meeting we welcome Mr. Chuck Renstrom. He is the author of the book "Do You See What I See", which is also the title of his talk. Chuck started his career in broadcasting in 1967 as a staff announcer for KLIR/KRKS Radio in Denver, Colorado with responsibilities ranging from news, weather and sports reporting to producing commercial spots.
Stories and movies have been made to reimagine what dinosaurs were like, showing them as scary predators of colossal size. But the modern world would not have known them if their remains, or part of their remains, were not preserved as fossils. Humans may have discovered dinosaur fossils hundreds of years ago, but they were only scientifically described in 1824 by William Buckland. What this shows is that people have long been interested in discovering fossilized animals.
This is a kid-friendly talk! Please join us for what should be an interesting and lively evening. We'll also be serving snacks and refreshments afterward.
