Cost: $10, Students $3, Children 12 and under Free. Cash or check on day of event.
Tour Mode: Car pooling in private vehicle caravan. Park entrance fee paid by Driver and reimbursable by RMCF: $25/car 61 or under. $10/car 62 and older.
Limit: Approx. 40 (max. 10 carloads).
Denver Gathering: 7:00 a.m. Location TBD; likely park-n-ride in north Denver area.
RMNP Gathering: 9:00 a.m. Location, Park Visitor Center 1.3 mi east of Beaver Meadows Entrance Station.
Bring: Sack Lunch, Water, Sun Screen, Sun Glasses, Rain Coat, Warm Wrap, Walking shoes (no hikes but perhaps a few short sorties), Camera, Notepad.
Description: Over a 6 hour period, we will have a series of stops in overlook and tourist pullouts in Rocky Mountain National Park, led by Patrick Nurre discussing the geologic framework of the Park, particularly glaciation. The itinerary is TBD, but may include: Horseshoe Park, Fall River Road, Trail Ridge Road, and the Bear Lake Road.
