You are responsible to make your own hotel reservations! Tell them you are requesting one of the rooms set aside for Ed Johlman of RMCF. You must make your reservations before May 15th. At that point they will release any unreserved rooms for other guests. They also have a couple of suites with 3 beds, but they are not included in our block of rooms. The hotel has a modest breakfast buffet with bagels, cereal, and sometimes hard boiled eggs. There is also a gas grill and a patio area available for guest use.

Camping: For those who prefer to camp, there is a KOA available near the hotel. Dinosaurland KOA, phone: 435-789-2148.

Park Admission: Red Fleet State Park is $7 per car, Dinosaur National Monument is $10 per car unless you have a National Park Pass.

Enroll: Please send an email to both Phil Budd at [email protected] and to Janie Johlman at [email protected]. Tell us a cell phone number, the names of the people in your party, the age of each, and if you want to participate in the additional activity. Then be sure to make your reservations for either the hotel or camping.

Itenerary

FRIDAY, June 5, at 7:00pm in the evening we will gather in the breakfast room at the Resides In for introductions, announcements, fellowship and snacks (provided).

SATURDAY, June 6, we will hike to a dinosaur track site in Red Fleet State Park, then drive to the Quarry at Dinosaur National Monument to see a natural wall with over 1500 dinosaur bones. From there we will hike down a hill that shows how fossils are found in nature. At the end of the day we will gather at a local inexpensive restaurant for dinner.

SUNDAY, June 7, we will start early for a drive to a 2500 foot canyon cut by the Green River. At Harper's Corner we will have a devotional and then take a moderate hike for an awesome view. From Harper's Corner it is a six hour drive back to Denver. That will make a long day but the view is worth it.

What to bring: Be ready for three hikes. Include appropriate shoes, clothes, hats, sunscreen, snacks, and WATER. Bring a lunch for Saturday.

Additional Activity

A trip to the Utah Field House of Natural History is highly recommended. It houses an extensive collection of fossils from many sites, along with impressive full-size replicas of prehistoric animals in an outdoor Garden. The cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children. If you would like to participate in a group trip to the museum, please let us know that on your email registration. We will gather at the Museum, 496 East Main Street, in Vernal, at 3 pm on Friday the 5th. The museum is only open until 5 pm.
