For the June 13 meeting, we anticipate with joy a return engagement with Dr. Dan Korow, noted science educator and speaker of Cedaredge, CO. Before he was "Dr. Korow", Dan grew up in North East Ohio wanting to look at bugs, butterflies, and take care of animals. His love for science kept growing until eight years later, he earned a B.S. in Biology from the University of Akron and completed a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University in 1990. He was a well-loved, small-animal veterinarian for more than seven years in Akron, Ohio, then moved with his wife Andrea to Grand Junction, Colorado in early 1998.
Dan was catapulted into a whole new arena of public speaking nationwide, and leading the intern training with AOI (Alpha Omega Institute). He has appearing at the CHEC (Christian Home Educators of Colorado) and UTCH (Utah Christian Home School Association) conventions. Currently, Dr. Dan leads a full scope of illustrated and hands-on science classes for homeschoolers in Western Colorado as the founder of Excel Educational Services, Inc. Families have nicknamed his Biology "Silly sayings by Dr. Dan," and have also thanked him profusely when their children suddenly gained a love for science and tested out for college credit! drdanscience.com His newest venture is to bring Excel Educational Services Global, Inc. to the online education arena as a family-friendly, interactive, online teaching service available for homeschool families anywhere in the world. Dan's topic will be, "Control is Just an Illusion" where he will discuss human body regulators.
There is no cost to attend this presentation and free refreshments will be served after the meeting. The RMCF library will be available at the meeting and is free to all RMCF members.
