Rocky Mountain Creation Fellowship is honored to have Dr. Ed. Bulkley as its monthly speaker on Friday, December 14th. Dr. Ed Bulkley has been a pastor for over 36 years. He is the author of Internationally acclaimed books, Why Christians Can’t Trust Psychology, Only God Can Heal the Wounded Heart, and How Big is Your God? Dr. Bulkley is the producer and host of the national radio broadcast Return to the Word, which airs on the VCY America Radio Network (670 here in Denver at 11 AM, M-F).
He produced three musical albums and has appeared as a soloist on television, radio, and in numerous live appearances. As the producer and host of Science and the Bible, a 30-minute weekly program which aired on the CBS affiliate station in Denver, TV-38 in Chicago, and a Christian station in Florida. Ed’s objective was to compare evolutionary theory to a genuine Biblical perspective, and to use Science and the Bible as a forum to defend the truth of the Scriptures.
Ed completed his undergraduate work at Moody Bible Institute and the University of Colorado. He earned his Master’s Degree in Religious Education from Denver Conservative Baptist Theological Seminary and his Ph.D. in Biblical Counseling from Trinity Theological Seminary.
Ed also maintained a busy schedule ministering in the local church while working on his master’s degree and later, his doctorate. In 1979, with the encouragement of a few key families, Ed and his wife Marlowe founded LIFE Fellowship, an interdenominational Bible church and counseling ministry. The church is now affiliated with the Evangelical Free Church of America and currently numbers more than 1000 people.
Ed states that both evolution and psychology are a tax on the authority of God’s Word and both also undermine the Church. He says that it breaks his heart to see what happens to our youth who leave the home and attend schools of higher education. If it were not for his faith in God and knowing that God is in control, he would certainly despair. His prayer is also for Jesus to come soon.
The major problem today are Pastors themselves. Many are pressured to adjust their message, such as trying to be a “seeker sensitive” church so as to grow the church. Ed states they need to stand for what the Bible clearly teaches and not compromise the Scriptures so that they can fill the pews. They must stand for the truth “and leave the consequences to God.”
Jesus once told the Jews that they were an apostate generation and so are we today. God brought down judgment on the Jewish nation for their failure to follow His Word and commandments. Judgment will also fall on our Nation if we fail to honor and obey God’s Word.
Ed hopes to challenge Pastors throughout the nation to regain their confidence in the Word of God and to reclaim the healing of souls as a ministry of the Church. Dr. Bulkley is the President of the International Association of Biblical Counselors, a group committed to training and certifying genuine Biblical counselors.
