Rocky Mountain Creation Fellowship is privileged to have as our March speaker, Mr. Robert Allen. Robert J. Allen retired in 1999 from a state-run research laboratory in Ocean Springs, MS, that is affiliated with the University of Southern Mississippi. He was the chief research technician doing light microscopy and transmission and scanning electron microscopy on the histology, cytology, and pathology of marine organisms and of cancer in aquatic fish. Prior to that, he was an Electronics instructor in the USAF, and a science teacher in the Illinois public school system. Mr. Allen received a Master of Education degree from William Carey College in Gulfport, MS, in 1989. By 1998, he had completed 1/3 of his course work toward a PhD in the History and Philosophy of Science from the University of Southern Mississippi, in Hattiesburg. He was not permitted to complete this program because of his Christian beliefs.
Since retiring the first time, he has returned to part-time employment running the Fish Diagnostics Laboratory at the College of Veterinary Medicine at Mississippi State University, in Starkville.
Robert will be speaking on an important topic that very few Christians are educated in: Claims and arguments most commonly used to argue AGAINST the existence of God. In light of the ever-increasing liberal media frenzy currently promoting atheism, and that the typical member of the Lord’s Church does not seem able to answer these arguments, this lecture series in very timely and important. Some talk concepts:
1. The concept of God is incoherent. 2. The Presumption of Atheism Argument. 3. The Incoherent Attributes Argument. 4. The Argument from Suffering/Evil. 5. If God created all things, then God created evil. 6. If God created the universe, who created God? 7. The Argument from Non-belief. 8. Belief without Proof is irrational. 9. The evidence is insufficient. 10. God isn't necessary to find meaning in life. 11. Theistic belief adds nothing of importance. 12. Belief in “no-God” is more reasonable. 13. Theists have the burden of proof. 14. Ockham’s Razor. 15. Religion is morally bad for people. 16. Theists fear facing reality. 17. God-of-the-gaps Argument. 18. Religion is merely error passed down from generation to generation.
